Enam and Mahia’s Brighton Proposal on the i360

When Enam contacted me about photographing him proposing to his girlfriend in Brighton I jumped at the opportunity. We had a few phone calls to discuss the plans about how he would go about proposing and Enam decided on the i360, we would wait until we reached the very top and he would pop the question then.

On the day the weather was not on our side,  British weather as always cannot be relied on and we ended up photographing in the middle of a storm. Even though it was cloudy and rainy (with extra strong winds) the views from the top were still amazing. We disguised the shoot as a couples shoot as Mahia was over from the states to visit, so it didn’t look weird that i was just there with my camera! We took some beautiful portraits on the way up and then when we reached the top I gave Enam the nod and he got down on one knee whilst Mahia was looking at the view.

It was an emotional yes, and we took some more portraits now with ring included.

The weather actually managed to hold up and it had stopped raining after the i360 trip so we walked on over to the Brighton Bandstand to take some more couples portraits there. When we got onto the bandstand it turned into some sort of wind tunnel and was literally the windiest weather I had ever been in. It ended up making it hilarious and we were all laughing whilst I was trying to take photos whilst also not all falling over – it resulted in some great portraits though and I loved how they turned out.

It was a truly unforgettable engagement shoot and I loved being a part of it.
