A Wedding Photography Workshop at Ragley Hall: Capturing Timeless Elegance

Nestled in the heart of Warwickshire, Ragley Hall is a majestic stately home renowned for its stunning architecture and lush grounds. For any wedding photographer, it's a dream location—a place where history, grandeur, and elegance converge to create the perfect backdrop for any wedding. Recently, Amelia Thompson at Luxe Workshops hosted an exclusive wedding photography workshop that offered an incredible opportunity for photographers and videographers to enhance their skills in one of the most beautiful settings in the UK.

The Perfect Setting: Ragley Hall

Ragley Hall, a 17th-century country house, offers an atmosphere of refined sophistication. From its sweeping lawns to its intricately designed interiors, every corner of this stately home exudes charm and grace.

The workshop, held inside Ragley Hall's grand rooms and gardens, allowed attendees to learn how to capture the very essence of a wedding day in such a magnificent environment. Whether photographing the luxurious interior of the Hall with the decor by florist The Foxglove Diaries and stylist Table Alchemy, or the stunning outdoor landscapes, the venue provided a dynamic range of photographic opportunities, each one unique and stunning.

Table Decor

One of the highlights of the workshop was the beautifully curated table décor by Table Alchemy and The Foxglove Diaries. The table setting reflected the opulence of Ragley Hall, with fine china, crystal glassware, and elegant floral arrangements. The theme was a perfect blend of classic sophistication and modern romanticism, featuring soft pastel tones and delicate accents of greenery and fruit.

Each element of the table décor was thoughtfully arranged to evoke a sense of luxury and refinement. The flowers, which included a mix of roses were carefully chosen to complement the stately setting and add a soft, romantic feel. The use of candles and fine linens added to the ambiance, casting a warm glow over the entire space, it was simply beautiful!

From Details to Portraits

The Ragley Hall workshop wasn't just about capturing beautiful décor—it was an immersive experience that covered every aspect of wedding photography. From the art of composing stunning portraits against the backdrop of the stately home’s stunning architecture to mastering the use of natural light in the garden, sometimes battling against the couples of minutes rain we had.

The portraits were taken in multiple locations around Ragley Hall, the main hall/entrance, a beautiful staircase with hand painted walls, the front of the home and the back gardens. All locations were so pretty and complimented all aspects and suppliers on the day.
